Where can I buy tickets?

You can buy tickets at the ticket counters at Kühlungsborn West & Ost and Heiligendamm stations and also at Bad Doberan station during the summer timetable. You can also purchase tickets for immediate travel via the Verkehrsverbund Warnow app for android or ios or via the Verkehrsverbund Warnow webshop (no advance booking).
Can I buy tickets in advance?
Can I take my dog with me?

It is possible to take dogs with you. A dog ticket must be purchased.

Small animals (including small dogs) can travel free of charge in suitable transport containers that do not take up any additional space, as well as guide dogs if the severely disabled person’s ID card bears the ‘Bl’ mark and dogs of severely disabled people in accordance with the German Social Code (SGB IX).

Where is the nearest toilet on my journey?

During the summer season, you will find a public toilet at our stations Kühlungsborn West, Kühlungsborn Ost, Heiligendamm and Bad Doberan. During the winter timetable there is a toilet in the museum café at Kühlungsborn West station and at Kühlungsborn Ost station. There is no toilet on our historic train.
What does the locomotive run on?

Our steam locomotives are fuelled by coal. The coal is burnt and heats up the water in the boiler, which turns into steam when it is hot enough. The steam is then directed to a cylinder that moves the rods connected to the locomotive’s wheels. This is how the locomotive moves.
What do I do if my railway is not operating?
Are there car parking facilities?

We have car parks at Bad Doberan and Kühlungsborn West railway stations. There are also public car parks near Kühlungsborn Ost and Heiligendamm railway stations. Please note that the car parks can get full at peak times during the high season. You can also reach all railway stations.
