Heiligendamm - White City by the Sea

The white city by the sea takes its name from the unique ensemble of neoclassical buildings. Even the station building welcomes you in its white robe. The pearl necklace of villas parallel to the beach promenade and the former Kurhaus and today's Grand Hotel Heiligendamm are particularly worth seeing.

As early as 1793, the personal physician of the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg, Friedrich Franz I, recognized the positive effects of the Baltic Sea and Heiligendamm became the first German seaside resort. With its white sandy beaches, blue sea and crystal-clear air, it still attracts numerous visitors today.
