Here you will find the answers to the most frequently asked questions for a smooth journey.

Where can I buy tickets?
You can buy tickets at the ticket counters at Kühlungsborn West & Ost and Heiligendamm stations and also at Bad Doberan station during the summer timetable. You can also purchase tickets for immediate travel via the Verkehrsverbund Warnow app for android or ios or via the Verkehrsverbund Warnow webshop (no advance booking).

 

Where can I buy tickets?

Can I buy tickets in advance?
There is no advance sale for Molli tickets. Reservations are only possible for groups. Mobile tickets are valid for immediate travel and cannot be purchased in advance.

 

Can I take my dog with me?
It is possible to take dogs with you. A dog ticket must be purchased.

Small animals (including small dogs) can travel free of charge in suitable transport containers that do not take up any additional space, as well as guide dogs if the severely disabled person's ID card bears the ‘Bl’ mark and dogs of severely disabled people in accordance with the German Social Code (SGB IX).

 

Can I take my bicycle with me?
Bicycles can be taken on board for the price of a bicycle ticket. An e-bike card must be purchased for e-bikes and pedelecs. Bicycles must be loaded and unloaded on the train independently. The railway staff will assist you with this.

 

Can I interrupt the journey and get back on?
You can interrupt your journey without any problems.

 

Can I buy tickets on the train?
Please buy your tickets before you start your journey. If our ticket counters are open and you still buy your ticket on the train, a fee of €1 will be charged. Tickets are only sold on our trains with cash payment.

 

Where do I leave my pushchair?
For larger items of luggage and pushchairs, there is at least one pushchair trolley on every train. This is labelled with a pushchair symbol on the outside. If your pushchair is wider than 70 cm, it must be left in the carriage.

 

How long will my ticket (single/return ticket) remain valid?
Your ticket is only valid on the day of purchase. As soon as you have travelled your route, it becomes invalid. However, it is possible to interrupt your journey.

 

Where is the nearest toilet on my journey?
During the summer season, you will find a public toilet at our stations Kühlungsborn West, Kühlungsborn Ost, Heiligendamm and Bad Doberan. During the winter timetable there is a toilet in the museum café at Kühlungsborn West station and at Kühlungsborn Ost station. There is no toilet on our historic train.

 

What does the locomotive run on?
Our steam locomotives are fuelled by coal. The coal is burnt and heats up the water in the boiler, which turns into steam when it is hot enough. The steam is then directed to a cylinder that moves the rods connected to the locomotive's wheels. This is how the locomotive moves.

 

What do I do if my railway is not operating?
You have the option of using bus route 121, which runs parallel to the Molli line. You are also free to have your Molli ticket refunded.

 

Are there car parking facilities?
We have car parks at Bad Doberan and Kühlungsborn West railway stations. There are also public car parks near Kühlungsborn Ost and Heiligendamm railway stations. Please note that the car parks can get full at peak times during the high season. You can also reach all railway stations.

 

How long does the journey take?
The journey from Kühlungsborn to Bad Doberan takes 40 minutes. You can plan 1 hour 35 minutes for a return journey.
